IMPLANTS

Dental implants are a permanent solution to replace missing or extracted teeth. They function like a natural tooth and have high retention rates. Also, more insurances are beginning to offer implant coverage.

1 How long does an implant last?

Implants have success rates up to 95% depending on the placement area and patient health. A successful implant should last you the rest of your life!

2 What is the expected timeline for an implant restoration?

Once the implant has been placed, it takes some time for the bone to heal and integrate into the post. It is standard to wait approximately 3 months before taking impressions for the final implant crown. After the impression appointment, it usually takes another 2 weeks before the crown is finished and ready to be seated.

3 What should I expect following the implant placement?

Implant placements alone are generally simple with minimal discomfort. Some amount of soreness in the gums is normal, but should be manageable with over-the-counter pain relievers. We like to see our patients 6 weeks after the placement to check the implant for stability.
